Often compared with Bingdao, Xiaohusai not only produces great teas but also preserves the largest high-elevation gushu tea fields in Mengku town. This tea was harvested between March 29 and April 4, 2019 from 200-300 years old trees and then pressed into 7-gram dragon balls.会员笔记 9 条

Very pleasant tea, not a daily drinker for me, but I will be glad to explore it further in future sessions.
This is a very nice tea. Lots of sweetness, both fruit and vegetal and floral hints in smell. Very calming tea, easy on the body and mind.

This is a very nice tea. Lots of sweetness, both fruit and vegetal and floral hints in smell. Very calming tea, easy on the body and mind. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorite (roasted tie guan yin), room for more hopefully Yay for the weekend 😀 Very tasty & calming. Have a great tea today, everyone!
This was the first pu'er I ever tasted, and it definitely got me on my current path of pu'er hoarding, and I forgot to share it back then.
A lovely tea. Not too overpowering.

A lovely tea. Not too overpowering. Nice session with the family. Drank some delicious tea and ate some homemade Nai Wong Bao. I think they went well together, and I loved getting to use my full tray! I liked this tea because it was quite mellow and it didn’t immediately overwhelm me with caffeine. Plus popping the ball into my teapot was fun.
Brewed 2-330pm: dumped because it became too bitter 335-10pm: decent taste throughout

My first tea session was fabulous. Thank you to Pascal for leading it. I had my first experience drinking Sheng Puerh and quickly became a fan.

Smooth fragrant, the nice floral violets notes are still here mixed with marzipan. Floral and sweet and fresh after-taste.
Mellow tea with clean fragrance. Nice huigan that remind violet flowers. I think it's because it's humagpian but the mouthfeel feel less rich than regular gushu I want to try more Xigui

My first huangpian (yellow leaf). Gentle, smooth, sweet, light My first huangpian and I tasted it with the tea pals group. This was an amazing tea because as a PuEr it was never super earth snd dense. It’s character is smooth and fruit notes and they stayed for a long time (11+ steeps) even after being pushed to 3 minutes without going bitter. The fruit changed from raisin to raspberry to apricot and mineral came and went. Overall, very nice experience!

Got a sample of this, and honestly, given the price I'm kinda disappointed.
Unfortunately, while I did manage to sort out the water issues, I just don't think that this one is for me.
A good sheng pu erh. Bitterness is there but not aggressive and different vegetable notes. Pleasant to drink.
Brewed with method A, which uses a ratio that is lower than I normally use. But I think it’s perfect for this Bulang. At this ratio the tea is beautifully bitter.

Easily controlled with shorter/longer steeps. Nice huigan. Full rich flavor. I loved the Nakas but this might be my favorite of the bunch. This Sheng Pu’er Dragon Ball is sourced from Naka, a well-regarded village in Mengsong, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna. Naka is known for its high-elevation environment, old-tree resources, and teas that balance clarity, structure, and long aging potential—often showing a composed bitterness, layered sweetness, and a steady, lingering finish.会员笔记 11 条

Drink this if you want to transport yourself to a pleasant afternoon in the forest. Strong woody notes and subtle grassy sweetness.

Went with brewing method A this time, and kept infusions short, 8-10 seconds. Not my normal brewing method, I usually add increments of time to each infusion.

Went with brewing method A this time, and kept infusions short, 8-10 seconds. Not my normal brewing method, I usually add increments of time to each infusion. This method was interesting in how it kept the flavors light the whole time but spread them out much farther than otherwise possible. Cool excercise that I will try again on some of my daily drinkers. Another great session with this Naka maocha, used a different brewing method this time to good results. Looking forward to trying the pressed Naka and making some comparisons.

Bought more of this gushu and love the sweet, slightly tart green stems, hyacinth or daffodil floral. Wi goes to the head for a slight altered feel.

Good for rekaxing after stress and pairs nicely with food. Leaves you feeling happy and slightly floaty. 💗 Drank this after a VERY stressful day. Qi goes to the head and leaves one feeling peaceful heart and a little bit floaty and removed. Perfect for stress. Pairs well with strong salty tastes like turkey salami or cheese.

Great tea. Very mineral coming out of the pot. I love holidays because I can finally drink my Shengs in my clay teapot. Fun to drink with a friend. It has definitely changed over the three times I’ve tasted it. I am definitely a little tea drunk right now.
Tastes and smells delicious, but very strong effect from caffeine. Must eat something while drinking.

Tastes and smells delicious, but very strong effect from caffeine. Must eat something while drinking. Short session after lunch today. Excited to finally try the May teas! This tea was delicious but immediately had a very strong impact on me so I had to eat something right away. It tastes nutty and floral to me.
A light, floral tea that reminds me of white tea. A hint of bitterness to start with a very floral and mineral body and a pleasant, sweet finish. Smells floral with a hint of cinnamon.

A light, floral tea that reminds me of white tea. A hint of bitterness to start with a very floral and mineral body and a pleasant, sweet finish. Smells floral with a hint of cinnamon. Reducing temperature reduced bitterness but also reduced sweet finish so I’d keep infusing at 100C. Hello friends! I’m new to this, but enjoyed tasting and documenting my experience with one of the May Club teas. Looking forward to tasting the rest!
Super enjoy. To me this was very similar to the maocha, which is a good thing. Floral, gentle, and sweet, good energy.

Super enjoy. To me this was very similar to the maocha, which is a good thing. Floral, gentle, and sweet, good energy. I’m not a big tasting notes person as I find that I spend more energy comparing tea to things that it isn’t and I want to just appreciate what it is. This is my third time experiencing a Naka sheng and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Grateful for another good tea.
Nice tea pal session with the tea pals hosted by Mathew. And beautiful quality tea ware chosen by Vincent ♥️

The tea started out with a light vegetal taste. Very little bitterness. The rinse had not broken up the tea and many leaves were clumped together, so that first tasting was not exposed to as much leaf surface. The next few steepings were increasingly bitter. Eventually the bitterness subsided and the last 2-3 steepings were a bit fruity sweet. I started to feel a little “tea drunk” by the end. Very relaxing feeling. I’d recommend this tea.
Excellent!
