I really liked this white. I just wish it were a bit more fragrant. A fun way to relax on a holiday. I didn’t even realize that I chose a white tea on the day of the Red, White, and Blue until my husband pointed it out 😂
Delicious tea. Really enjoyed this - reminds me more of a roasted oolong than a white. Very different experiences steep to steep. Nice fruity smells and nutty flavor. Relaxed body and mind.

Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorite (roasted tie guan yin), room for more hopefully Probably my favorite of the February teas.

New teaware! It's very pretty. The tea is also a gorgeous golden. The flavor is hard for me to place! It's earthy, sweet, and has some fruit-like note.
Really like this tea. The aroma and taste are pleasant and it lingers on the tongue.

Daheishan (Big Black Mountain) is a common mountain name, but this is the one belonging to the Bada Ancient tea mountain, where many gushu trees grow wildly for hundreds of years. When tea trees sprout for the first time in the harvest cycle, there will be soft outer layers protecting new buds’ growth, and yabao is picked during this stage.会员笔记 13 条

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Spring recipe to make 85 TDS water. Taking the rest of the afternoon off from work for my mental health...and tea! The more I have this tea the more I love it, and I think it will become a 4.5 eventually. So crisp and refreshing.I'm glad I bought some more from Vincent 🙂

Western brewing! It's very similar to before except more mellow and sweet. I do like it a bit better this way.
Very different tea flavors for me. I will need more sessions with this tea to fully grasp to enjoyment. The infusion liquor is practically clear.

Very different tea flavors for me. I will need more sessions with this tea to fully grasp to enjoyment. The infusion liquor is practically clear. Taste most like water from cooking stele cut oats, savory, watermelon rind, a touch of strawberry sweetness in the aftertaste. Crazy long aftersensation to juicy & dry. An interesting flavor session. I will need to try this again at a later point to determine my thoughts on it. I enjoy the mouth sensations but the flavors do not encourage me to keep sipping it.
This is a really consistent tea. It's incredibly floral and a bit sweet. The leaves are gorgeous, but the liquid color is almost clear. It's really long lasting.
Very consistent
Very herbal white tea. I liked it. It’s not one for every day though (and that’s fine). 😊🍵
I like it better than other ya bao i tried. It’s a tea that does not taste like tea to me, rather like a herbal infusion. The taste is very vegetable, like aubergines and green beans.
A very good tea. Very unique from anything I've tried before. Love the smell. Great sweet floral, vegetal, and fruit notes.

Nutty, with marzipan (almond) sweetness. Mouth - Finish: sweet and savory purple tea finish. Brothy and woody, with a spring water juiciness. Nose - Empty Cup: saplings and fresh springs Eyes - Wet Leaf: green and purple/red buds Body - Sensation: relaxed and contemplative Delicious Ya Bao. Probably my favorite type of white tea, and this particular showing was no exception.
Might try a lower water temp or more leaf to see if I can get the sweet notes to last longer next time.
Sometimes I just crave a Ya Bao! Yesterday was such a day 😀. Had a nice session with my first tea from the January club! Nice and steady for a lot of infusions.

Fragrant mellow tea, remind me BaiMuDan but in a different way.
Finishing off this tea! It's still pleasant, although very mild.
This is my favorite white tea that I've tried as of now from the club. So elegant, sweet, leaving me craving more and more between infusions. Mouthwatering tea!
Wonderful honey flavor. Very nice white tea.

Wonderful honey flavor. Very nice white tea. Nice tea session with the tea pals. This tea is quite wonderful.
The color transforms from light to deep golden. The flavor is floral and like sweet bread. At times, it's even like a vanilla latte. It has a very strong aftertaste. The aroma is really pleasant too.

That said, it does eventually pick up clay notes, which is a little odd and what keeps this from being a 5 for me. It is overall very good!
Very good tea, close to a 4.0. Very nice floral, almost perfume smell. I like the citrus, orange flavor later on.

I boiled this tea in our tea club gathering event led by Matthew. I’ve been drinking the same gushu white tea from this village since 2019, and I’m never disappointed.

I boiled this tea in our tea club gathering event led by Matthew. I’ve been drinking the same gushu white tea from this village since 2019, and I’m never disappointed. First time boiling this tea, it tastes fruity and sweet with a full body. It aged very well after almost 2 years. This is a new teapot I got as recommended by Pascal. The filter has two separable parts, which flexibly allows for steaming or boiling tea. I’m pairing it with my electric stove 🫖The steaming method allows the tea to release flavor gradually.

Almost akin to sheng in some ways.

Wuliang mountain offer some mellow tea without bitterness and astringency, it almost feel flat. Elegant and confortable to drink, i keep the next one for an hangover
This was a wonderful white tea experience and much needed after my Yin Zhen Silver Needle debacle from last week. 😂
The tea appearance out of the bag was so interesting with the fuzzy dried leaves still attached is prestine form to the stems, each piece with stem was rather long.

Not exciting but a nice background work tea. Focused and not jittery. Needs to be boiled. Sugary at the boil temp

Very nice tea. Lovely floral notes in the mid session. Side pour to avoid overly dry mouth feel. Unlocked a memory of hard candy aftertaste. Overall left my body and mind awake and alert.

Curious what others experience. This was from 2 days ago. I enjoyed it!
I’m not a big fan of white tea, but this is one of the few that pleasantly surprised me with its mellow floral frangance and hints of grapes
Lovely club tea. 😋 I brew this western style because I like this big leaves to float.
