This tea was surprisingly weak. I liked that it was sweet, but it was hard to get noteable flavors from it. "Delicate", maybe.
Another tasting of this delicious tea :)

Eyes - Dry Leaf: varying tones of vibrant lime and deep brown/black leaves with white buds Nose - Dry Leaf: flowers (sakura and lily?) with toasted chestnuts/pine nuts and a soft starfruit sweetness Nose - Wet Leaf: flowers and toasted nuts/pumpkin seeds with a deep honey/floral sweetness. Savory vegetal note (asparagus). Eyes - Liquor: soft golden yellow with lots of trichomes Mouth - Texture: soft and silky Mouth - Taste: floral, with a toasted pine nut/pumpkin seed warmth and depth. Soft asparagus depth and a gentle fruitiness, perhaps starfruit. Floral, fresh, and juicy finish. Mouth - Finish: spring water and freshly blooming flowers. Super bright and fresh, with an intense juiciness. Honey and pumpkin seed remain to provide depth to the finish. Nose - Empty Cup: flowers and toasted pumpkin seeds Eyes - Wet Leaf: incredibly plump, healthy looking, yellow leaves Body - Sensation: relaxed and energized, with a gentle cooling sensation Exactly what I hope for from a yellow tea. Floral, subtle, layered and sweet, this was absolutely delicious!
A lovely tea. Could see this as a daily drinker.

A lovely tea. Could see this as a daily drinker. A lovely tea that woke me up. Had a great time with the Tea Pals today.
Pleasant tea, with subtle sweet, vegetal, and floral aroma and flavor. Very nice mouth feel and was very comforting on a cool Fall morning.

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Original recipe to make 50 TDS water. Pleasant tea, with subtle sweet, vegetal, and floral aroma and flavor. Very nice mouth feel and was very comforting on a cool Fall morning. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully Yellow tea month continues to be enjoyable and comforting with the weather getting cooler.
Not a bad tea, but not very memorable either. Might try playing with it to see if it improves for my taste.
Tasting first tea from the Yellow teas. Really nice example of a Yellow tea. It reminds me a bit of MengDing Eco Green tea from May teapal theme. Can't wait to taste other Yellow teas.
Love it!

My favourite, so glad I added it to my regular stash ❤️❤️❤️
This was like a weak green tea. I liked the nutty steeps best, but it faded quickly.
Eyes - Dry Leaf: delicate yellow fuzzy buds Nose - Dry Leaf: toasted nuts and a warm, gentle fruitiness. Warm cream.

Eyes - Dry Leaf: delicate yellow fuzzy buds Nose - Dry Leaf: toasted nuts and a warm, gentle fruitiness. Warm cream. Nose - Wet Leaf: roast nuts, fruity/floral sweetness, and a freshwater scent Eyes - Liquor: pale yellow liquor with lots of trichomes Mouth - Texture: silky smooth and medium Mouth - Taste: warm and round, with a creamy character and a soft, warm nuttiness. Fruity/floral (lily, orchid?) finish and freshwater juiciness. Mouth - Finish: fresh and juicy, with a floral brightness. Juicy in the cheeks and on the sides of the tongue. Cane sugar sweetness. Nose - Empty Cup: floral and fresh Eyes - Wet Leaf: tender, avocado colored young leaves and buds Body - Sensation: relaxed and soothing Very delicate but full yellow tea, an excellent example of the finest yellow teas. Aroma opening the bag was reminiscent of a Junshan Yinzhen, with an overall delicacy surpassing that of even peers like Mengding Huang Ya. Very pleasant, with a long and fresh finish. An exemplary huang cha. A very smooth and subtle yet well characterized tea. By far the finest of the month 🍵
Trying out my first of the yellow teas from the October club. Never had yellow tea before. This is very interesting…like a hybrid white and green for lack of better words.
Another nice tea for this month. Some stronger nut flavor which is nice. I think a heavier pour led to a lot of dryness, although made for a stronger flavor, so a bit of a double-edged sword.

I think a heavier pour led to a lot of dryness, although made for a stronger flavor, so a bit of a double-edged sword. For my next session I will stick to a moderate agitation pour to keep the dry mouth feel in check, but give the best flavor. Will also use Autumn recipe to enhance the nuttiness. Feels perfect for this time of year as it's getting cooler.
This is a lovely tea. I think that I like it more than the tea I had yesterday.
A lovely yellow tea. Nutty and sweet.

A lovely yellow tea. Nutty and sweet. Last month, I met up with my in person tea friends to taste a variety of yellow teas. I found that many of them are similar to green teas, but they have a distinctive nutty flavor that many fresh greens lack. Anyway, I was particularly looking forward to this month’s box so that I could have the opportunity to taste more of the most famous yellow teas. This tea did not disappoint-it was delightful and nutty and probably could have been pushed even longer than I did. And the meeting was lovely too!
I really love this tea!! 🤩Two of my favourite things combined, plus a strong taste with an awesome mouthfeel makes me very satisfied!!

Huoshan County lies in the heart of the Dabie Mountains in the western part of Anhui Province. It's the cradle of Chinese yellow tea, giving birth to fresh and invigorating Huang Ya tea, mild and mellow Huang Xiao Cha, and the deeply fragrant and rich Huang Da Cha.会员笔记 9 条

Another very unique tea! A mix of roasted nuts and vanilla cinnamon rice cakes. My only complaint is that it fades quickly.
The 2 teas I had before were better, more intense tastes. This one isn't bad but the taste is subtle or washed out, not so intense.

Eyes - Dry Leaf: dark brown leaves with yellowish-green hues Nose - Dry Leaf: toasted barley with an underlying fruity/floral sweetness (cherry/stone fruit?) Nose - Wet Leaf: toasted barley, flowers, and warm slate/granite Eyes - Liquor: delicate, shimmering golden-yellow Mouth - Texture: soft, lubricating, and vaporous Mouth - Taste: wild honey moving to roast nuts/toasted barley, with a cherry sweetness and floral height in the finish Mouth - Finish: fruity sweetness and floral fragrance, with a mineral tingle that leads to juiciness Nose - Empty Cup: toasted barley and wild honey Eyes - Wet Leaf: tender olive leaves and buds with hints of red and yellow undertones Body - Sensation: mellow and relaxed, with a calming sensation in the head, shoulders, and chest. Cooling and energizing. Not at all what I expected! The toasted barley note reminds me of hojicha but this feels so much more delicate and balanced, a tea truly made for appreciation. The sensation it gives is almost stoned in its relaxing qualities and just makes you happy and sleepy while simultaneously presenting a cooling feeling on the skin and pleasant source of energy. I haven’t had any of the other yellow teas from this month yet, but this was an unexpected albeit very enjoyable and pleasant start. The first yellow tea of the month, very interesting and not what I expected!
A good tea, but flavors were a bit too subtle and light for me to push it to a 4.0. Nice nuttiness, and slowly evolved into a vegetal flavor more and more. Very nice, round mouth feel.

Finally getting to do club tea with Christian again! This was a good one to resume with. It's very unique. To me, it's like whole wheat, whole grain toast with strawberry and rhubarb jam and cream.
Very different yellow tea. Subtle strawberry flavor with a slight tart, drying mouth feel. Stayed very consistent throughout.

A very consistent mineral tea, that has a slight secondary vegetal note that can be explored in later infusion.

A very consistent mineral tea, that has a slight secondary vegetal note that can be explored in later infusion. It’s a nice tea, nothing particularly striking about it, but nothing bad apart from the horrible smell the wet leaves had in the first infusions. I think I need to play with this tea in some way, it might prove more interesting than this session. Photos refer to the first, fourth and last infusion.
