Happy International Tea Day! I'm finishing this Da Ye oolong before I go to bed.
A good tea, though not at all something I would ever buy on my own, it’s totally not the tea for me. The opened leaves were very big and pretty, it was a pleasure to behold.
I see why Tea Muro compared this to TGY. It's less floral than some of the ones I've had, but it is overall similar. It's not a type of tea I drink often, but it's fun to try.
A nice floral tea. Very strong rose aroma. Flavor was more vegetal with a floral and nutty back end. Nice mouth feel. Just barely a 4.0 - not sure I would buy it, but it's a very enjoyable tea.

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Autumn recipe to make 115 TDS water. A nice floral tea. Very strong rose aroma. Flavor was more vegetal with a floral and nutty back end. Nice mouth feel. Just barely a 4.0 - not sure I would buy it, but it's a very enjoyable tea. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully Getting caught up with my December teas. Can't believe we're so close to the new year.
Trying second oolong tea. I like it the same as the tea I had yesterday I think, so going to give 4 stars as well. This one is more vegetal.

Zhangping, situated in the southwestern part of Fujian Province, stands as a renowned tea haven in China, blessed with a climate and soil conducive to the growth of tea leaves. Abundant wild tea resources within its borders make it one of the three major wild tea bases in Fujian Province.会员笔记 6 条

Lovely wrapper, lovely leaves, but the tea just doesn’t have enough taste for me.

Lovely wrapper, lovely leaves, but the tea just doesn’t have enough taste for me. I hope we don’t get more teas where there’s only one possible serving, it prevents one from trying with the suggested parameters and then experimenting.
Wow, what a nice unique oolong tea. It's more sweet than the others. I haven't seen compressed oolong cake before. I broke the pillow into 2 pieces so I can make this tea again.

Wow, what a nice unique oolong tea. It's more sweet than the others. I haven't seen compressed oolong cake before. I broke the pillow into 2 pieces so I can make this tea again. I enjoyed all of the oolong teas, here is leaderboard: 1. Zhang Ping Shui Xian 2. Bai Ya Qi Lan 3. Yong Chun Fu Shou 4. Da Ye Oolong I forgot to post this log and take picture
We messed up and started with half the amount we should have (4.9g) before adding the rest of the brick. That helped bring out more flavor. The tea was consistent and long lasting.
This is such an interesting tea. Very floral and buttery; it reminds me of Tie Guan Yin but sweeter.

This is such an interesting tea. Very floral and buttery; it reminds me of Tie Guan Yin but sweeter. Had a nice session with the Tea Pals today! This tea was very interesting—I don’t think I’ve had one exactly like it before. The processing style of this “pillow” resulted in a unique taste that reminded me a of a Tie Guan Yin, but much sweeter. I am excited to have the second half of this packet very soon.

The Yongchun Foshou (Buddha's Hand) tea tree, characterized as a large-leaf shrub, unfolds with a tree structure resembling the fingers of Buddha's Hand citron, hence its name "Foshou". Buddha's Hand is originally a fragrant and enticing precious citrus fruit.会员笔记 12 条

Retro tea club selection, a nice lighter style fo shou from Fujian.
A very green oolong, low oxidation and little to no roast. Enjoyable and perfume forward, more in Anxi or Taiwan style than Wuyi.
Western brew for hydration! This style of brewing removes a lot of the bitterness that I got with previous brews.
Regardless of how I steep it, this tea does better after it's cooled a bit. It can be bitter, mineral, and vegetal while hot, but after it's cooled a bit, floral sweetness is revealed.

Regardless of how I steep it, this tea does better after it's cooled a bit. It can be bitter, mineral, and vegetal while hot, but after it's cooled a bit, floral sweetness is revealed. It's in the aftertaste where it really shines. I feel bad for sharing it with my mom; she almost never gets the aftertaste, so I'm having a much nicer experience with this tea than she is. That said, she kept drinking, so hopefully she still enjoyed it.
Nice Oolong. Very vegetal. Lots of hyacinth. Some butter in the last infusions.
Quite a pleasant oolong, I like how vegetal it is.
0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Original recipe to make 50 TDS water. Subtle. Some hints of citrus with the bitterness feel of citrus, vegetal, buttery, and slight floral notes.

The best part of this tea was the aftertaste, which was pretty consistently nice.
Trying third oolong, going to give 4 stars too although I like this more than the tea I had yesterday. I will write leaderboard when I try all teas.

Trying this western brew to move it along. It's good this way!
By far my favourite of the month. Very pleasant, first time I like a tea that tastes roasted.
Love this one fresh floral and fruity very refreshing

Bitterness was almost unpleasant on the second steep, but then the tea begins to soften and get sweeter with a lingering bitterness that reminds of grapefruit. Been a bit lazy on my posting lately, but still enjoying tea every morning. Wishing you all a great time with family the next few days.
The aroma was so good, but I don't think we quite landed on the right parameters to bring that into the taste no matter what we tried.

Trying first Anxi oolong tea. It had typical oolong taste profile. I like it.
