0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Autumn recipe to make 115 TDS water. Good apricot flavor. Heavy mineral and metal flavor and mouth feel through the mid session. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully
A complex session that was a journey through woods and fruits but also vibrant.

A complex session that was a journey through woods and fruits but also vibrant. I liked the 2019 more overall but I appreciated this one’s journey.
Quite interesting tea.
This is a really interesting tea. It does require a steady hand though. I think it was better with the lower temperature, so next time I will start with a lower temperature and a longer brewing time.

Now that the teas from this month’s club are in the app, I can share my notes from Sunday. This tea was very perplexing. You would think asa dragon ball it would require boiling water but I think it tasted sweeter when it was at about 190. An interesting experiment! I think next time I drink it I will use half the ball in my mini Gaiwan so I can do a lot more infusions.

A lovely sheng with strong chá qì

A lovely sheng with strong chá qì Very much enjoyed this 2022 Teng Tiao GuShu. Deep energy, calmness, and a bit tea drunk for the first time. Out of the four shengs for the August club I liked this one and the 2019 Yi Wu GuShu the most for different reasons.
Enjoying this tea in an early morning session with Pascal for tea club! Brewing at a lower temperature today (190F). Definitely a high energy tea, with a more robust flavor.

The 2019 Yi Wu GuShu Raw Pu-erh is sourced from Tianmenshan in Yiwu, a region historically revered for producing tribute teas in the Qing Dynasty. Harvested from tea trees over 100 years old, this tea is processed traditionally—withered, pan-fried, rolled, sun-dried, and later hand-rolled into dragon balls.会员笔记 5 条

Elegant tea with some complexity, low astringency and no bitterness. Very nice
Faint marshmallow flavor made this one interesting.

Mellow with subtle sweetness. A decent afternoon tea.
Really enjoying it this time! Sweet, but with some nice complexity as it opens up.
Quite good tea. I split the dragon ball into 2 pieces this time. Next time, I will use the whole dragonball.

The 2022 Da Xue Shan GuShu Raw Pu-erh is a standout selection from the high-altitude tea gardens of Bangdong in Lincang, where tea trees grow wild at over 2000 meters above sea level. In early spring, the tea is harvested from ancient trees surrounded by old-growth forests, far from human habitation, allowing the trees to thrive in a pristine environment.会员笔记 3 条

This was an okay one for me. Very subtle in all aspects making it complex and difficult to understand the notes.

This was an okay one for me. Very subtle in all aspects making it complex and difficult to understand the notes. My first ever raw pu-erh. It was enjoyable but modest and a bit difficult to understand.
I liked the tea I had yesterday more. This one is more bitter, not sweet and has light taste profile.
This is very light tea, with balanced flavors. Notes of pear and apple, some hay and green tea notes in the middle and a hint if bitter in the first infusions with a floral finish.

This is a light balanced, easy drinking tea. Not a particularly memorable tea for me, but still a nice session. I only used half of the tea ball in my 150 ml Gaiwan.
