Almond Aroma Dancong (杏仁香, Xing Ren Xiang) is a distinctive Phoenix Dancong oolong, named for its fragrance, which carries the fragrance of bitter almond used in Traditional Chinese Medicine yet remains pleasantly nutty and sweet. This tea is known for its rich fruity aroma and refreshing taste, which develop naturally throughout its kill-green (fixation), rolling, and roasting process.会员笔记 9 条

Sweet, creamy, woodyness, slight astringency, slight bitterness, deep stone fruit pit after-taste. Endurant and pleasant Realising that i've been writing instringency instead of astringency in all my previous post... Life is full of mistakes, i guess i can blame my teaslexia
Today i'm very satisfied with my new Gaiwan. This one is made of premium bone china, it is very light (only 25g with the lid), smooth, thin and shiny.

Today i'm very satisfied with my new Gaiwan. This one is made of premium bone china, it is very light (only 25g with the lid), smooth, thin and shiny. Well fired as all part are vitrified, even the bottom rim. Bone china is the only teaware that is not vegan. Craftman use bovine bone ash that is mixed with pure kaolin and minerals to make this very fine and elegant porcelain.
Nice, not over floral, maybe it lack a little depth Smooth qi
Nice nut flavor and lingering sweetness. Nice mouth feel.

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Autumn recipe to make 115 TDS water. Nice nut flavor and lingering sweetness. Nice mouth feel. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully
The nutty notes are gorgeous. Tastes like the aftertaste of peeled almonds and hazelnuts.
Not sure what I missed. Started with 4 gram but didnt taste a thing so added the rest of the leaves. Made it too bitter. I find the tea the best after the tenth infusion. Weird.
Nurturing patience, It took 8 infusions to find what was looking for. Surprising ! Unexpected evolving flavour beautifully. 😇
A new personal favourite. The most pleasant tea I've had in a while. It has low roast, great mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste that is always sweet and engaging.

A new personal favourite. The most pleasant tea I've had in a while. It has low roast, great mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste that is always sweet and engaging. The nutty flavors are very welcome among the sweet fruit flavors that arise in the tasting. After swallowing the experience improves and grows. I can't understate how sweet and rich it is, you'll have to trust me.

Xue Pian Ya Shi Xiang (雪片鸭屎香), or Snowflake Duck Shit Aroma, is a rare and highly coveted winter-harvested Phoenix Dancong oolong. Xue Pian, or 'Snowflake,' refers to the fifth harvest of the year, a rare occurrence in Phoenix Mountain where mild winters allow select tea trees to sprout once more.会员笔记 11 条

Still drinking some odds and ends from the MyTeaPal Club.
Oolong odds and ends from the MyTeaPal club, another Dancong Oolong today.
Tea i would classify in the desert category, easy drinking nice complexity. I want some in my collection
Intense sweet nutty floral aroma first 2 infusions. Returning sweetness.
A nice floral tea. Really like the cream flavor, too. Not overly pungent or perfumy.

This Ya Shi Xiang might not be the most attractive tea, but it's a feast for cream! Reminds me of gaoshan wulongs, but with a little astringency and a mineral kick.
In your face floral taste and smell. Gardenia, Jasmin, honeysuckle
I like the more roasted ones from this month a lot better. Really tastes like a high mountain oolong.

I like the more roasted ones from this month a lot better. Really tastes like a high mountain oolong. On a second try… this is still my least favorite of this month’s tea club teas. A little too green for me!

Eyes - Dry Leaf: chalky dark brown and yellow leaves Nose - Dry Leaf: milk, toasted nuts, cherry Nose - Wet Leaf: stone fruits and floral bouquets Eyes - Liquor: thick, cloudy, yellow liquor with peach undertones Mouth - Texture: thick and creamy with a textured minerality Mouth - Taste: creamy and sweet, moving to a fruity/floral finish reminiscent of peach and lilac Mouth - Finish: distinct mineral tingle with an incredibly clean and juicy finish. Lasting lilac. Nose - Empty Cup: warm brown butter Eyes - Wet Leaf: medium-sized olive green and purple-brown leaves Body - Sensation: laidback stoned sensation Pleasant, easy-drinking Ya Shi Xiang with classic creamy/fruity/floral notes and lots of minerality. Can’t wait to see what else this month has in store!
Very rich, pleasing tea. I'm a bit tired of Ya Shi Xiang, being the most prevalent Dancong in Spain, but I wanted to give it a chance to see what this winter harvest provides.

Very rich, pleasing tea. I'm a bit tired of Ya Shi Xiang, being the most prevalent Dancong in Spain, but I wanted to give it a chance to see what this winter harvest provides. It is by no means rare, it very much showcases the virtues of the varietal: creamy, Vegetal, fruity with slight umami. It is a very consistently flavourful tea, with increasing and notable astringency, that lasts for many steeps. I have to note the freshness and quality of the leaves. Great for long sessions.

I'm not sure what fresh Osmanthus flowers smell like, but this is a delightful Dancong Oolong with robust flavor and scent. (As far as I can tell, there are no actual osmanthus flowers in this tea.

Another MyTeaPal Club selection tea, another Dancong Oolong.
3 because it doesn't fit my taste, still a very good tea. Tea that feels perfumy, the first brew was very aromatic and persistent. It is almost too strong for me.

Will this tea do something for bad breath 🤔🤣 If this tea would be a picture it would be a old lady tea room with a lots of flowers and wooden furniture. For sure i will offer the other pack i have My Wuyi tea dealer recommended to drink oolong with cup not with my bowl. So i tryed MyTeaPal cup for the first time. Excellent quality, smooth translucent porcelaine unfortunately i don't like the branding in the cup, and it feels bad too to the touch. Thankfully Xing will offer me a good cup soon 😁

Pretty nice. Dancong. Fruity and floral. I love March because it forces to me drink Dancongs more. Dancongs are so interesting but I never usually reach for them when I want an oolong because they’re so easy to mess up if you get one thing wrong. But today’s brew was quite successful. Very much enjoyed drinking the Gui Hua Xiang with the club members.

The weakest out of the 4 club teas, but by no means bad. Very flavourful, but lacking in aroma and body. The tasting starts strong, then plummets, then surges again after swallowing.

It’s a very potent sipping tea, almost medicinal. The cha qi was calming for me but more bright for others. Very viscous or oily in the mouth, Fruity at the nose
This one is really good. I think the almond is still my favorite this month, but this is a very close second. Very thick, oily, and goes and goes. Around brew 7-8 and still going.

My favorite tea from the MTP club so far. A true treasure that I had never heard from before. Exceptional floral aroma... With a catch. You need to be able to taste the violet compound which is not that common. I had it with people who could taste violets and they loved it, but some people told me it was tasteless and not floral. To me, it was a long lasting, complex, extremely flavourful tea that reminded me of the traditional violet candy from my home city (Madrid). Deep, rich and with a delicious molasses hui Gan.
