Meng Ding Shi Hua (“Stone Flower”) is a rare and refined green tea from the historic slopes of Mengding Mountain in Sichuan. Crafted from the heirloom Lao Chuan Cha cultivar, it was hand-picked on April 3, 2025, during the first flush of spring, using the single bud picking standard—much like other celebrated Sichuan bud teas such as Que She (“Sparrow Tongue”) and Zhu Ye Qing (“Bamboo Leaf Green”).会员笔记 6 条

Tastyer with highest temp. Aerial and elegant fragrance with a satisfying mouthfeel. Any astringency or bitterness even with boiling water

Overall, a nice smooth green tea. Appreciate the first couple steels when cucumber and smoothness and fresh raw nut vibes take over. The third steep at 40 seconds (189) was too bitter for my taste.

Overall, a nice smooth green tea. Appreciate the first couple steels when cucumber and smoothness and fresh raw nut vibes take over. The third steep at 40 seconds (189) was too bitter for my taste. So I'd likely keep the water 185 ish and stewps to 30 seconds. I would be curious to try the first steeping of this cold, it is likely refreshing. This was nice to try. Might do a cold version for the 2nd half of the sample bag!
Very pleasant green tea. Nice nutty and buttery flavor. Crisp and smooth on the palate.

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Original recipe to make 50 TDS water. Very pleasant green tea. Nice nutty and buttery flavor. Crisp and smooth on the palate. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully
Really lovely complexity. Early spring greens tend to be a bit one note to me, but this one has some really interesting things going on! A bit yeasty/bready, with a hint of green bean.

Slightly buttery, sweet under the tongue. We got a ton of brews from this as well- at least 8 or 9 steeps. Had a wonderful time! Happy the tea club is restarting again!

This traditionally restored curly-style green tea comes from Yunwu, a town whose name literally means “cloud mist”—a fitting reflection of its high-altitude terroir, where tea gardens thrive among mist-covered mountains. Yunwu Tribute Tea has a legacy dating back centuries, once produced as tribute for the imperial court.会员笔记 6 条

Did 188F, I love the first and second steep! Very creamy and full bodied. Definitely that buttered fresh bread vibe with a hint background of almond or some other delicate type sweetness.

Did 188F, I love the first and second steep! Very creamy and full bodied. Definitely that buttered fresh bread vibe with a hint background of almond or some other delicate type sweetness. The this steep was too astringent for me (188F, 35 sec). So I'd probably prefer Steep #1 in a mug type style for this since I don't like the subsequent steepings as much.
Having this tea outside while on a trip, joining Pascal’s Sunday tea. Not the best water for this tea (travel tap water), but really good nonetheless!
A very nice green tea, Guiding Yunwu.
Good vegetal and umami flavor. Fresh tasting.

Another tea from the May club, Cloud Mist Green. The brewed tea is a pleasant pale green that hard to capture. Umami, light fresh vegetal character, touch of returning sweetness.

With the good ratio this tea is excellent. It feel full with some pleasant savouryness followed by soy milk sweetness. The floral aftertaste is persistent and definitely remind hyacinth.

Vibrant, creamy and roasted-buttery green tea. Made my afternoon!
I'm usually not a fan of green tea, but this is fantastic. I can see and taste the level of care that went into both plucking and producing this tea.

It's not only delicate and palatable (not bitter), it's got a lovely deep buttery popcorn layer admist it's underlying mildly sweet roasted chestnut profile. Enjoyed every steeping and temp recommended. One of the best Green Teas I've had in a decade
Very strong (too strong for me) vegetal notes to start. Started to pour on the side of the gaiwan instead of the leaves for each step and the flavor mellowed quite a bit and made it more enjoyable.

Gong fu Smells special. Like a hamburger. Wet leaf smells more bitter. More vegetable.
Another nice spring green! Not my wheelhouse, but enjoying these!
Green tea, damp day.
Umami, grassy, fresh green veggies, Yibin Eco Green Tea is a refreshing green tea from the MyTeaPal Club.

Meng Ding Gan Lu, or “Sweet Dew,” is one of the most iconic green teas from Sichuan Province, produced on the misty, high-altitude slopes of Mengding Mountain. Tea cultivation on this mountain dates back over a thousand years, and Meng Ding Gan Lu has become a distinct style known for its fine downy buds, curled leaf shape, and traditional three rounds of pan-frying and rolling processing method.会员笔记 4 条

Gentle and smooth tea
It's a nice tea. Super delicicate, quality notes if grassy thyme and artichoke. The first two steepings were better and trailer off.

Ohh my first Mengding Gan Lu ever and I'm blown away! I enjoyed very much the dance between astringency on the tip of the tongue and sweetnness in the aftertaste, the balance is extremely fine-tuned…
