Huoshan County lies in the heart of the Dabie Mountains in the western part of Anhui Province. It is considered the cradle of Chinese yellow tea, producing fresh and invigorating Huang Ya, mild and mellow Huang Xiao Cha, and deeply fragrant, rich Huang Da Cha.会员笔记 4 条

Really pleasant. This is a perfect balance of mellow yellow with a touch of smokey toasty. The delicacy of the normally strong flavors is comforting and welcoming
The nutty and fruity notes are very good! I just wish it was slightly longer lasting.
Very smooth, any astringency or bitterness. Good price for the quality 👌 Nice session

0 TDS distilled water with TeaCurious Spring recipe to make 50 TDS water. Yellow tea month starts off great! Yellows have become quite a favorite of mine, so expecting great teas this month. This one doesn't disappoint - nutty, grain, and floral aroma. Very delicious and soothing mouth feel. Rating Criteria: 0.5 - bad, flavorless, or worse very astringent, teabag 1.0 - mostly bad, flavorless, most teabag tea 1.5 - not good, but maybe something to like 2.0 - slightly disappointed, not my kind of tea, but still can appreciate it - probably the worst rating I would give a loose leaf tea (at least one that hasn't turned bad) 2.5 - mixed feelings, like it, but there is something off about it I don't like 3.0 - good, I like it but nothing stand out about it or a very good tea with one critique that holds me back - probably the highest I would give a teabag tea 3.5 - very good, a tea that I was very happy to have but content with what I had, wouldn't seek it out for additional purchase 4.0 - great, very happy with the experience, would seek out for purchase, but only occasionally 4.5 - a favorite, one I love and want very often 5.0 - life will be very sad without it, reserved only for my favorites (roasted Tie Guan Yin & Dancong Red), room for more hopefully

Meng Ding Huang Xiao Cha, or “Yellow Small Tea,” is a balanced spring expression that sits between the delicacy of bud-only teas and the depth of larger-leaf styles. Harvested in early spring 2025 from Lao Chuan Cha trees on Wangjiashan at 1300–1400 meters, this tea is made from one bud with one to two tender leaves and shaped through a layered, traditional sequence: withering to reduce surface moisture; heat fixation to halt oxidation followed by an initial resting phase to build internal mellowness; rolling to influence leaf structure; then repeated cycles of pan-firing and resting to deepen complexity; shaping; two rounds of controlled drying; and final selection for consistency.会员笔记 8 条

Meng Ding Huang Xia cha 3g x Meng Ding Huang Ya 3g Damn this is good, new filter works very well with yellow tea too. In comparaison with BLC TTC this one feels cleaner.

Meng Ding Huang Xia cha 3g x Meng Ding Huang Ya 3g Damn this is good, new filter works very well with yellow tea too. In comparaison with BLC TTC this one feels cleaner. It doesn't have that strong musky scent that green tea tends to have. I'm happy with this bag of tea
At 80°c this tea excellent, gentle mellow, sweet. Unlike some marine green tea this yellow tea with those floral tones and dry corn notes remind me inland warm summer.

Not as bad as other yellow teas but still too light and dry for my personal preference Very pretty tea. And smells lovely. I'm not a fan of the dry and the lightness of this so it's not my personal cuppa.

This one was hard for me. Can’t find the center.

This one was hard for me. Can’t find the center. Beautiful tea but couldn’t find the center sweet spot on how to brew it. It had a strong vegetal fore taste but then dropped off the map with any mid or after taste. Perhaps too subtle? I’ll try again another time.
Interesting yellow tea. Good nuttiness with some subtle vegetal notes and light sweet corn flavor.

Interesting session. What picked the most my interest are the cumin smell that is unusual. Any astringency and bitterness. Aroma remind me pan fried green tea like LongJing but very smooth.

Seems like decent quality but every steep just had little to no flavor and was always borderline bitter. I think it gets the job done if you want something warm and basey maybe.

Seems like decent quality but every steep just had little to no flavor and was always borderline bitter. I think it gets the job done if you want something warm and basey maybe. Maybe it would be better cold, but don't make cold tea barely ever so not sure It is a soft and mellow tea. Usually I'm not looking for that, but if I were, this would be 4 stars for me. I do sense it's clarity, but just not enough flavor for my personal taste
This was my favorite tea of the month so far. So smooth and silky and yet complex. Delicate, but bold in its sweetness.
Good, nutty yellow tea. Some good umami flavor and a hint of floral and a bit of honey sweetness.

The first time i drank this tea was 2 weeks ago with my father. We have been very surprised by the aroma of the tea, we liked it a lot. I remember i picked some lemon pie notes but this time i couldn't found very profond and complexe aroma. Maybe the tea have turned vented quickly, maybe the weather today is very humide and it limit my abilities to smell properly. Initially it was a 4.5/5 but it rate it as a 4 today and i will taste it again soom with a dryer weather. In all case this tea was very enjoyable The tea is much more aromatic when cooled a little. Buds are really tender. 1. Bad 2. Drinkable 3. Nice 4. I like and i'm thinking of buying it again 5. Love it, i'll buy some more
I prefer this beautiful tea brewed at 180°F, and it has some beautiful flavors, as well as a very complex evolution whilst steeping.

I prefer this beautiful tea brewed at 180°F, and it has some beautiful flavors, as well as a very complex evolution whilst steeping. Asparagus and peas are definitely the predominant flavors and aromas, but there is a slightly high floral note at the front and a marine note on the finish. Extremely vegetal, but a gorgeous tippy leaf. I prefer my teas a bit less vegetal but I would also highly recommend this tea for those with refined palates.

Meng Ding Huang Da Cha, or “Yellow Big Tea,” is a particularly mellow and nourishing expression of yellow tea. Harvested on April 20, 2022, from old Lao Chuan Cha (heirloom) trees at 1200–1300 meters on misty Mengding Mountain in Ya’an, Sichuan, this batch was initially processed in late April and then pressed into tea coins in August, allowing it to age gracefully over three years.会员笔记 4 条

I don't drink yellow teas often so this month's selection is very eye opening!
